I have just started to utilize FotoSketcher but, as it is very straightforward and easy to work with, I have already experienced some initial success! I like the product very much and have already shown it to one of my housemates!

This is a really cool little program. I was playing with it yesterday putting in some of my renders and they came out looking awesome. I think I will start using them for cover pages on my proposals. Thanks for a unique program.

FotoSketcher is a fun piece of software and I enjoyed playing with some features and viewing the results produced. I downloaded the software as I had a need for something that would produce a photo outline that could be used to draw pictures from photos. These would be used for painting by numbers type pictures, unfortunately I could not produce the results I was after.

Photoshop and other programs will do the same thing. The downside to them is you will be waiting till they loadin and then going thru menus and tweaks to do it. This is a very focused product and it does a good and fast job of it. It was not what I was looking for but good just the same.

The same review as photo to sketch. Both programs very much the same. Neither had the outcome I was after.

I love FotoSketcher

The program helped me create a variety of paint effects on my photo. It has a user-friendly interface and reasonable amount of choices of effects to choose from. I am currently using the FotoSketcher-'painted' photo of mine as my blog profile image.

Fotosketcher is user firendly and robust

Thank-you for the opportunity to give feedback on your product. I found it easy to navigate the menu options and tweak the picture to see which combination worked best to achieve the result I was looking for in my image. I especially appreciated the ability to save the modified settings so that I coul return and apply them after I had experimented with other formats.

I would recommend this utility to others looking for a sketch conversion tool.

Great Software!

Best software of it's kind I've used so far,does what I need and then some. Wanted to EASILY convert photo's to pen and ink/line drawings. This programme does it quickly and easily and with a few tweaks you can get it just how you want it. Fun to just play around with the different effects too, made some really interesting base pictures for my art work.Great stuff and free!!!

Better for paintings than sketching

The program renders photos as a painted image quite well. The sketching feature looks like sketching, all right, but not like a line draawing.

Good Stuff

The only thing I would like to see improved is the preview function. Make it scaleable or larger so you don't have to drag the image back and forth with every change.

Simple and effective

Nice little program, haven't yet tried with landscapes but worked great with some baby pictures! Only complaint is that it would be nice to have some basic help tips, but it doesn't take long to work it out.

Impressed

I tried a program called Photo to Sketch before downloading this one. I liked this one SO much better. In the Photo to Sketch program, the resulting image looked more like a coloring book page than a sketching. I suppose that'll be fun sometimes, too, but it wasn't the look I was going for. This program has more options for the finished look... oil painting, colored pencil, etc. I absolutely love the colored pencil look. It made all my photos look old-fashioned, care-free, etc. I am in love with this program. I give it 2 thumbs and all my toes up. ; )

good, but a few wishes

I was pretty happy with the features overall, but I was really hoping to have a little more control over the sketching. I was really going for a more of an outlined sketch instead of it being completely filled in.

Easy to use

I found FotoSketcher by chance and was in the mood to try it out.
I´m a digital artist and so I have just had an idea how to use filters, but I think that also a newbie is abel to play with this programe without difficults.
The result and output have a very good quality!

Highly recommended (about FotoSketcher)

The interface is very user friendly and has an uncluttered layout

The feature I like most about FotoSketcher is the 'new' painting effect preset. The results are amazing.

The pencil sketch preset includes a colour intensity parameter bar which I would have liked to have seen for paint effects also.

The software recognizes *.BMP and *.JPG picture files but not *.PNG.

Well worth a download. You won't be disappointed. The program is Freeware but you can also make a small donation if you use it regularly... DS.

Good. Depending on source image.

I've had excellent results with some photos and average ones on others. Try it on pictures of landscapes or buildings, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I hope the program continues to progress but for a freeware it's great!

Not realistic.

The program runs smoothly but the end result does not look realistic. It looks more like a poorly scanned image rather than a sketch.
It would be great for artistic value if it worked as described. That's my experience, your's may be different.
